Playing Burned VCD's On A Grundig DVD Player

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Grundig DVD Player (Supports CDR Discs) Matshushita CW 7502 SCSI 4x CDR Burner Windows 98 II, Pentium III 500Mhz, 128Mb RAM.

Please can someone help me with my current problem burning Video CD's. I have used Nero, WinOnCd & Adaptec to burn a video cd. I believe I have the correct format but unfortunately my dvd player keeps say (NO CD). I have checked to make sure it supports CDR's and it does but still no joy.

Please can someone mail me with any ideas as I am low on railway track..

Regards STUART

Here are some things to try. First off have you tried makeing an audio cd on the same burner and media to see if that works?

try diffrent media, some types are just more fussy than others.

try recording at a slower speed.

Remeber, if the manufacturer doesn't advertize that it supports cdr's there is the unfortunate possibility that they have changed lasers, and the one you purchaced just does not support them. This is why I bought one that was labeled cd-r, cd-rw ( pioneer 333 ).

Does your Grundig really accept Video CD?? Some DVD players are DVD/CD players only, like some RCA/Thomspson models. No VCD. Maybe your Grundig doesn't accept VCD. Why not get a pressed VCD (not CD-R) first and test??

I wish to start by saying thank you for your help.

I have researched my DVD Player and according to most web site my DVD player supports CDR's butnot CDRW.

I have tested a Star Trek Next Generation Video CD and it worked fine, it was this that got me started on burning my own video cd's.

Please let me know what else I can try or the setup I should USE !!

Thank YOU !
