Exposure compensation with EOS 300 - how it works?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

How actually EOS 300 does exposure compensation in TV, Av and P mode, ie. when the camera changes shutter speed and when aperture? Do I get any warning when camera cannot set desired exposure compensation, ie. the maximum aperture is reached? Thanks in advance, Krunoslav

I believe you set exposure compensation by pressing the shutter button partway down to activate the meter, then press the AE Lock button (marked with an *, I think) and turn the Mail Dial (the one next to the shutter button). You should see the indicator mark on the meter move left or right for negative or positive compensation. What this does is change either the shutter or aperture or both depending on mode.

The warning you get when either aperture or shutter extremes are exceeded is the the shutter speed or aperture value will blink in the finder and on the top mounted LCD.

This information is all in the manual. If you got one it's very easy to find.
