CPR, how do you pick your topics to champion?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

After watching you rant, rave, beat on your chest, malign a World Class PhD [Paula Gordon], and, in general, be a jerk, what exactly is your point? Can you even spell P-h-D? Let alone know the scarifies it takes to become one?

How do you pick your topics to champion? Randomly?

You seem to have an opinion or answer [or axe to grind] about everything and everyone. Read some where, someone that knows everything or has an answer for everything - obviously didn't understand the question [as I suspect in your case]!

If your intent is to impress, it isn't working. You come across as dull, myopic in vision, intent, scope and thought process ...; however, you do have the right to be here, too.

Other than that, have a nice day.

Ouch! Being scarified. I knew there was a reason I stopped at the MA.

cryptobyte,

I think you are trying to read more into cpr than is actually there. There really isn't much to understand about him. He is simply a mental malfunction. Look up tourette's syndrome on the internet, then you'll understand where he is coming from. He simply gets an idea in his head, then profanely and loudly babbles and babbles incoherently on and on about it. Don't try to make sense out of someone who has simply gone insane.

I passed on doing my Ph.D. with two offers from Professors in BioPhysics or Materials Engineering and did a Masters in Math instead.

Ph. D.s used to represent an "educated person" with a high ranking with Peers in Academia, a plethora of published work open to "Peer Review" and most importantly, A JOB or an Income Steam related to one's work in the field whether from speaking fees, patents or book commissions.

Sadly, in today's highly specialized world, some Ph.D.s are granted to those who passed time as "indentured servants" to a Professor usually after the Sponsor got tired of looking at the "candidate".

IN RE: " World Class PhD [Paula Gordon}".....

WHERE IS THIS "WORLD CLASS Ph.D. **TENURED**?? Where is this "World Class Ph.D. even "on staff"?

Which "World Class Ph.D." wrote a mostly de-bunked and de- frocked "White Paper" on Y2k Computer Problems?

Does one get to be a "World Class Ph.D." citing sources like Jim "I have the Navy documents they are covering up right 'cher in Tongo" LORD ??

Is associating with Extremist and Alarmists part of being a "World Class Ph.D."??

Is this what "World Class Ph.D.'s" do?

Careful, Buddy, under "Academic Freedom", World Ass Ph.D.s are allowed to "study" anything they wish and it is Ass-umed they will use their "skills" to "expand the Frontiers of Knowledge".

Of course, like World's Ass Ph.D. herself, there is little "evidence" this rule is followed 100% of the time.

I have resisted for a long time singling out World's Ass Ph.D. but as your post demostrates, "tough love" might be more appropriate her. I will consider it as my "pro bono" De-Bunker "Social Work" of the month.

Perhaps, she thinks that she can carve out a "niche" in Academia as "the Last Doomzie of Y2k" then when the "Crisis of C_Time" comes before 2037, she will be "properly positioned" for the Big Time Lecture Circuit and reap those de Jager sized fees. (HINT TO PAULA: don't bother, they will laugh at you then also.)

SHE SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO HER FRIEND "ALAN" who warned her 7 months ago she was making a Laughing Stock of herself.
