Millet testified that, in 1998 and 1999,
the looming Y2K computer problem "threatened
to bring down everything" and was a bigger
concern to the White House.

On Wednesday, White House lawyer Mark Lindsay
testified that the e-mails lost in 1998
resulted from a constantly crashing computer
system that was "antiquated and unstable." He
said the system was upgraded in 1999 to head
off expected Y2K problems.
