When using Kodak T-Max 4x5 film what is the position of the notches when the emulsion is facing you? I've had problems with other sheet films (b/w, color neg. chromes) and found out that proper notch position may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer.

My experience has been that all 4x5 sheet films are emulsion up when the narrow end is away from you with the notches on the right side. This corresponds to the indentation on all my filmholders. :)
