Al, can you tell me what it is that confirms your faith, other than what your bible says?

For example, if you never saw or read a bible, what could you say is the one or two things that really tells you without a doubt, that everything you say is known to be absolutely true?

" I?? NOW IF YOU insist THAT YOU WANT-THE-POISON--WELL? THERE IS ONLY=1 SAVIOUR OF MANKIND-THE-CHOICE IS=YOURS!!"

I insist I want the poison. NOW can you stop your bible thumping?

HI kofe, THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE MY FAITH--IS he DID IT!!

-- al-d. (dogs@zianet.com), August 24, 2000.

KOFE, if GOD want's someone to know him-he will do---it. HE IS GOD!! i've met people that couldn't read or write--but when they-read the bible they could perfectly=understand the words=ain't GOD=AWESOME!! ever heard of paul the apostle--formally saul of-tarsus!! a man that hated jesus & his follwers[children]-who became the greatest defender of CHRIST[the anointed-one]--so you see it is true *WITH GOD=ALL THINGS ARE--POSSIBLE*

KOFE, if Al never saw or read a Bible, he probably wouldn't be a Christian. But how does this affect whether he is right or not?

-- Butt Nugget (catsbutt@umailme.com), August 24, 2000.

>KoFE, if God wants someone to know him, he will do it"<

Al,I think that is true, and I think that is why so many people are not "grabbed" by the words only. And then, to be threatened with pain and suffering forever if you are not "grabbed", rubs alot of people the wrong way.

The whole premise of the bible (as its being taught) is fear-based and illogical. Am I to believe that Jesus offers freedom, as long as I stay focused? (on him) but if I become distracted, I'll suffer some way?

IMHO, christianity is a mind-control prison religion. And no, "satan" didn't tell me to say that. The closest I've ever been to "satan" was at church. All the other times, I was easily able to avoid "him".

But I'm starting to realize that this debate could go on forever; like it always has.

KoFE, YOU GOT IT--BUT true-lets not use the word christianity--its been drug thru the mud enough. it's become like judaism was in JESUS time. lets put it like this this=ONCE I WAS LOST & BLIND-NO-PEACE COULD I FIND-THEN GOD -GOT MY ATTENTION! HEY I WASN'T LOOKING FOR HIM--I WAS TOO BUSY HAVING FUN?? BUT MY FUN TURNED TO SORROW!!=ADDICTION! SHAME--REGRETS! I ASKED GOD TOO KILL ME OR CURE ME--I'M CURED-WHAT CAN I SAY?? BEYOND- -THAT! GOD IS REAL--RELIGION=SUCKS!

-- al-d. (dogs@zianet.com), August 25, 2000.

Can't really argue, Al, because as a man thinks, so he is. IMHO, you focused your attention in a new direction, and found a positive change.

A person can't hold more than one thought in their head at one time. (simultaneously and in rapid succession, yes, but not at the same time)so,the most lasting and effective way to make behavior changes is to crowd out current thoughts with new. (for example, boot camp) And usually it's a personal crisis that serves as a catalyst for the change. And I think that's what goes on in most "spiritual" conversions.

But I think if you can have Jesus in your life in such a big way, then it should be just as easy for everyone else. In other words, We shouldn't have to supply ALL the energy.
