Hi Rennee, sorry to hear about your goat. I was taking care of someone elses goat last year and she came down with mastitis the very next day! Stringy bloody milk and high temperature.I was a wreck! It was Sunday no vets open, no feed stores open to get meds. A friend called a friend of hers who is in the dairy section at UNC. He said to give LA200 and it would knock it right out. It did! I only had to give her one shot. I milked her every two hours until all that stringy bloody stuff was gone and the milk looked normal. Also put hot compresses on her udder and massaged it. Don't breed her again until WELL after the slaughter withdrawal time!!!!!

Good luck ! Let us know how she does.

Not sure what kind of goat but my Nubien had mastitis and the vet gave me the LA200 and Calflec (I not sure of the spelling) to insert into the udder. I then rubbed Bag balm on her for about a week and milked her dry three to four times a day on that side (he said that was really important). I also gave her warm water with molasses and vinegar-which she loves. I'm not sure which worked but she did get better and is doing great. She was even able to accept an orphan on that side about three weeks later.
