A power outage left more than 930 Mississippi County Electric Cooperative customers without power Monday, including the Sheriff's Department and the county jail, according to general manager Larry Hellums.
"A substation near Dell malfunctioned, leaving some of our customers without power for about an hour," Hellums said. "We are still looking into what caused the malfunction."
The Sheriff's Department and the jail operated on a generator until power was restored.
