HELL YEAH THEY DO!! Last night Feb.3 2001 was the coolest rave i've been to in Memphis TN. Hybrid totally rocked the house. Continuous phat beats all night long. You have got to go to the rave Feb. 9 in Little Rock, Arkansas. DJ Micro is the headliner. A must see for everyone. Damn the man! Raving is not a crime! Peace!

-- Anonymous, March 12, 2001

There is a rave Sat, Mar 24th at The Outer Limit ($15.00)

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2001

Hey Kids! Yea, Nashville used to have a kick ass scene until they closed down The Eighth Day. It wasn't the greatest venue, but the people were awesome. (If any of you are reading this give me a holla) Now all the parties are @ the Outer Limits don't get me wrong the vibe is OK there, but it's so small. But we have some cool parties, we had a really kick ass one @ (don't laugh) The Palladium, AK1200 was there. OH MY GOD they kicked ass. So anyone hearing of a cool party coming up soon? Let me know!

Check out the info for

VINYL Fantasy: Departure... May 26th, @ the Roll Arena, Knoxville TN

-- Anonymous, May 06, 2001

the party this weekend at the roll arena sucked ass. they had stanton turntables for the DJ's and no-one showed up. all the DJ's were complaining about the tables and a couple of them left without playing. and there was a couple that didn't even show up. it sucked and whoever threw that party needs to learn a few things before they throw another one.

-- Anonymous, August 08, 2001

I live in Oklahoma, but I've been to one party in Memphis about a year and a half ago. Richard Humpty Vision was the head liner, there weren't many people, but you could tell it was most of their scene. It was nice though, everyone knew each other and the party had a really good vibe.

-- Anonymous, August 28, 2001

Well I don't know about raves, but the Outer Limit has some kickin parties.(ie Battle of the Bands) Battle of the Bands is by far the best thing that I have ever experienced out of Nashville. If you really want to find talent, go to the battle of the bands show this Saturday night and wait for the performers that have the midnight slot, they ROCK!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, August 30, 2001

i left about 3 months ago for a journey that only i was able to take, but now im bringing the power back home. the power is coming home.to make things right and deliver our scene from the hands of the corrupt and unworthy.

I am from South Carolina and I love Tennessee. I would like to travel north to Knoxville, Johnson City, Morristown, somewhere in that area. I would like anyone to email me that knows of any parties in that area. I have alot of friends in Morristown and Knoxville but they aren't into the rave scene so I have no connections up that way. I would love it if anyone, someone to help my out.

-- Anonymous, October 27, 2001

Yea i live in Nashville, the only scene ive been too is the outer limits, and its starting to get kinda lame...they have a dresscode and junk for the guys....but the musice is phat....gimme a holla about partys around in tennessee....

-- Anonymous, November 01, 2001

Guys,

Nashville is fixing to explode again! I promise.

Forget the Outer Limit though.

If you missed DJ Irene, Huda Hudia, & Spice this past weekend at 328 Performance Hall, don't fret... in 2 weeks Slugo will be back!!!

As a DJ, I LOVE Nashville. The vibe I get from Katatonic is great! Dave Apuzzo, and female DJ Shugg Knight are doign everything they can.

Look for a new nightclub, CHROME, to open off of Murfreesboro Rd this week! The address is something like 2165, about a mile or so from Bell Rd.

If you are interested in starting a serrious, online community dedicated to the Nashville scene, email me.

I am a hardhouse DJ from Atlanta, but I was born & raised in MJ, and still play Nashville about once a month.

If you are not familiar with the Atlanta scene, one of its strong poitns is in it's online community. Look at www.plurplanet.com or www.lunarmagazine.com, or www.jivemagazine.com and you will understand what I mean.

I also have a website http://sharc.0catch.com

I think Nashville needs an online hub to go for your music events calendar and to discuss the music and scene in general. I'm also a web developer, and want to see Nashville thrive.

Hey; I was at the (last??) party at Indian Cave State Park; the one with Huda Hudia and all the cops and roadblocks and klansmen and shit... I was wondering; anyone on this board keep up with the cave owners? will they ever let another party go down at the cave? I'm with Touch Samadhi in Asheville NC and we need places to throw KICK ASS FULL-ON PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE parties, preferably as close to nature as possible. I want to know about the cave, and also if any of you cats has a farm or *private* land to use. Let me know!

Peace

Get the best live mixed house or dnb anywhere from the baddest artists of our time. Underground Rekords does not just get any cd or mix and put it on here, this is only the best music that we and our dj's love, we have been with this music for many many years and continue to love it, more and more. We know how it is when you purchase something and it sucks. This is only the music we love and believe is some of the best music, cd's, mixes, and records of all time. Even bad ass artists sometimes come out with whack stuff, so we made sure that it's not just a great artist, but that it's some of their best and newest work. We make sure that everything on here is strickly bad ass nothing less. This is the type of stuff we LOVE to jam in OUR spare time, we're not just selling whatever we can get. There is so much stuff out there that sucks that people sell, so when you try to purchase a cd most of the time you have to have heard it before, or you feel like you might get fucked over because you don't want to end up with something that sucks and you have to just HOPE that it's a good cd, which is messed up because you're paying money.

With us you can pick any CD and not have to have heard it before, and you can be sure that you will enjoy the cd, love it, and hear it over and over forever. This is the type of stuff that you will want to hold on to for your whole life. We live and sleep to this music 24 hours 7 days a week. We know good music when we hear it, that is what we do.

Some of the dnb artists we have: Ak1200, Dara, Dillinja, Konflict, Dieselboy, Adam F, J-majik, Ed Rush Optical, Brockie, Mickey Finn, Danny the wildchild, Kemal and Rob Data and much much more, all live cd's, perfect sound quality.

Some of the house artists: Armand Van Helden, Ian Pooley, Bob Sinclair, Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Feelgood, Dj Dan, Stacy Kidd, Paul Johnson.

If there is something in particular you're looking for just ask us. If there is something you're interested in that is not house or dnb we can get it for you just tell us what you want and we'll have it. Check out our website for all the cd's and information.

Cd's are only $10 and we'll send it C.O.D at no charge, and free shipping.

I don't know of any raves i've been to recently (which i dont refer to it as a rave),but i know in the past few years i lived in nashville, the scene brought together some mind blowing parties! And if you cant find any raves (parties),i'd recomend KATATONIC.I promise you'll want to come back every weekend. The DJ's rock the house, while you dance and have a great time with your friends. They're Nashville's greatest to me, and i'm sure 99.9% of nashville thinks so too.I've been gone for about 5 mths.,but im about to hit the scene up back with my presence. It grows on ya,you always gotta come back!

I Just want the dark evil shit that all junglist love to bust out on. Well thats it for me. Please give me some kind of run down. peace.

I am definitely down with the d 'n' b. I would love to see more of it come to nashvegas. I would also like to ask for some help from the nashville kids! I am flyering for a party in lexington in august featuring some drum n bass dj's from new york along with breaks dj's from across the country. I almost forgot, a little trance too. If anyone would like to help me out, please e-mail me. Hey Ryan,

The closest thing to tru D & B is going to me the muse coffee shop in Nashville. on the corner of 4th ave. They have an okay b.y.o.b. scene on sat. nights and throw parties every few months. Besides that...stick to ATL or Birmingham. Also, try 88.3 (an mtsu station) fri from 8-10 and other various times have some d & B. Aslo, try the red rose coffee shop in Murfreesboro on Sun. nights. Shane, sells some good vynal on the side, plus some cool dj's spin for free.

I welcome any replys. I'm from upstate NY, where Rave's began for us in NY. I've been here for a year now. I have been separated from the scene for over a year and a half now. I gave birth last Nov. I'm not your typical raver. I'm happily married to my soul mate and have two beautiful children. I graduate MTSU next year and plan to be a school psychologist. But, hey hey, I WANNA PARTY!! AND GET FREAKY. are there abt cool people out here in Tenn willing to make a few friends. my husband loves to spin, and would like to get to know some other like minded people, that can introduce us to the culture here. We went to Nashville ( our first time away from the home) in 6 months, to a party I found online. It sucked. so hey you whoever throws those parties down at the place with the car they carry dead people, YOU ALL SUCK i've never felt unwelcome, spiritually I though you were all dead. don't know if it's the drugs but whatever it is get off it. So, where are the real parties? you know the ones where you don't care how you look , and there are no bimbos bouncing around with lollypops he he. I want the party that's going to welcome me.

toosporty, you candy-ass, if that's all you care about, take your strung out ass to Fiction because that bulls**t isn't need at the Ballroom. FYI, while you were busy jonesin', dj SIREN tore that shit UP! Keoki was "ok" but I really didn't expect much, he, apparently like you, lost touch with the scene for quite some time and was blinded by the drug aspect. It's unfortunate you can't see the joy right in front of you.......

MaddhatterRadio and Level 3 Nightclub are hosting The Ministry of Sound Tour that will be a trilogy of events that starts in November and ends in January in Atlanta

This will be a themed series, heavy with decorations, themed dancers and numerous other additions to the club to recreate a Ministry of Sound clubnight in the U.K. The Ministry's goal is to transform the club and to build on the energy that IS The Ministry of Sound. We are also working on having one Ministry of Sound Sessions broadcasting party one of the 3 dates.

Friday November 21, 2003 @ Level 3 Nightclub.

For the first date we and The Ministry of Sound are proud to welcome to Atlanta this duo for a first time visit..

John Creamer and Stephane K (Bedrock, Ministry of Sound U.K. & South America) 1am-4am

John Creamer and Stephane K. are making a serious dent in music history by redefining the beats, the grooves and the values of house music into one distinctive new style. Twisted, tribal, dark, deep, narcotic and sexy are words that best describe the sound that's currently getting them rave reviews from DJ heavyweights such as Danny Tenaglia, Danny Howells, Pete Tong and John Digweed. John and Stephane have produced and remixed some of the biggest tunes of the last two years. Remixes that have provoked near riots on the dancefloor include Kosheen's 'Hide U, which won them remix of the year at the 2001 Muzik Awards, their brilliantly twisted vocal remix of Satoshi Tomiie's 'Love In Traffic’, New Order’s ‘Crystal’, the irresistible ‘Waiting‘ by Nat Monday and Rapture’s classic anthem, ‘Iio’. Both “Hide U’ and “Iio’ became massive global hits, with both records entering the UK Top 10 at No.6 and No.3 respectively. Their production work has also been equally as successful, with projects such as ‘I Love You’ and ‘Wish You Were Here’ earning them worldwide respect as producers in their own right. In addition 2002 saw the duo develop a new imprint dedicated to their self styled sound titled Pipeline Records which is getting World Wide recognition. John Creamer and Stephane K have also been impressing dance floor crowds far and wide behind the decks. Having supplied the soundtrack to last years summer season, John Creamer is bracing himself for a similar success story this summer as he spreads his dark and twisted beats even further afield. He was the duo’s representative for their Bedrock Tour in July and August, promoting their new compilation and taking him toThe Pod (Ireland), Pacha (Budapest & Buenos Aires), Renaissance (Ibiza), Istanbul and Cult (Switzerland) amongst others. He is also a main player in the massive 4-Day Smirnoff Tour in North and South America alongside Deep Dish and Danny Tenaglia. In the last 2 years, John has already managed to conquer some of the worlds most respected clubs including Cream (UK), Renaissance (UK), Bedrock (UK), Pacha (Portugal), Soda (Athens), and Zouk (Singapore) and has formed a solid relationship with The Ministry of Sound throughout the U.K. and South America. Stateside Creamer has played the legendary Spundae (San Fran, LA and Vegas), Axis (Boston) and Maze (Miami) during WMC. Please join us and The Ministry of Sound for Creamer and K’s first time visit to Atlanta.

Gene Carbonell (Dark Driver, Choo Choo Records U.K., www.genecarbonell.com) 11pm-1am

With a true testament to his skill and ability, Gene has formed a loyal following in Atlanta, and is bringing some of the finest Djing talent in the world to play alongside him. With regular bookings overseas including the likes of Lithuania, The Virgin Islands, Portugal, and London, this U.S. headliner is getting worldwide recognition His has been recognized by Danny Howells and Saeed and Palash as one of the US’s finest DJs. In addition to all of this, in 1999 Gene began production work, alongside fellow Dark Driver producer, D.Scott. Thier first release “Re-Vision 2” was signed to Choo Choo Records (www.choochoorecords.co.uk) and earned them props from Danny Tenaglia, Anthony Pappa and DJ Vibe to name but a few. Now producing solo, and with a handful of successful remixes under his belt, Gene is set to become one of the new breed of producers and DJs. Join us for Gene's signature sound, showcasing groovy, sexy but driving progressive house.

Alongside... Corey Von Waters (MaddHatterRadio,Abstract Logic Recordings)10pm- 11pm

In the past several years, Corey has maintained a busy Djing schedule playing in clubs throughout the South East with his signature sound. He has developed a style and precision behind the decks that is only matched by his wildly outrageous personality and love for making people smile. His sound is best described as a nasty infusion of progressive, breaks, tribal and tech house to satisfy any dance floor. In 2003 Corey was signed with MaddHatter as a resident Dj. He is also co-founder of Abstract Logic Recordings. ALR while busy with producing tracks, is also focused on their immediate goal of progressing the scene in Atlanta with events. He has recently been found playing on the same bill with great acts such as Mauro Picotto, Chris Liebing, Ltj Bukem as well as opening up for The Ministry of Sound.

Location: Level 3 Nightclub, Downtown Atlanta

Level 3, which occupies a former Planet Hollywood building on Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta, has the largest assembly of Turbosound speakers in the South East. Lighting is of upmost quality, and the space has a full 5 watt liquid cooled laser as a permanent install.

The club includes three floors and features a large dance floor, a VIP area and balcony seating. The club offers patrons five bars, two downstairs, two upstairs and one on an exclusive third level with eleveator access, the source of the club's name.

***Level 3 is under new management...friendly but firm security.....no dresscode for this specialty event........come prepared to dance!***

The club is getting a facelift for this launch with a completly new, redesigned and lowered Dj booth, giving the club patrons an up close and personal interaction with the Dj on the first floor, along with some other new additions to elevate the clubbing experience. We will also have the club themed out for this event, with dancers and Ministry of Sound decorations to contribute to the Ministry of Sound clubnight and will be unlike anything Atlanta has ever seen or experienced. This series is sponsored by one beer, one liquor, and one energy drink company and will be heavily marketed via all advertising mediums including Radio and TV (MTV). Sponsors will be announced in the coming week.

As always, Level 3 is 21+

Tickets will be available $15 in advance through www.groovetickets.com. $20 @ The door

DB - Breakbeat Science - NYC

Arriving in New York from London in '89, it could be said that no one has done more for Drum & Bass in America than DB. First with his hardcore Breakbeat club NASA, then by launching Sme communications and releasing the first Jungle singles and compilations in the U.S, as well as signing DJ Dara, thus kick starting his artist career. He and Dara then opened Breakbeat Science, dedicated to Drum & Bass, It quickly become not only the most respected record store and label, but also the very epicenter of the jungle community in the U.S. Having recently released "10", his tenth mix CD in ten years, he is now working on an artist album with DJ Stakka, focusing on the more musical side of the genre, which as a DJ, is what DB has become best loved for.

DARA - www.breakbeatscience.com - Moonshine - NYC

Since his first record release in 1995, Dara has produced a string of highly successful singles and remixes as well as his 1997 full-length debut "Halfway Home (sm-e communications) has been a huge critical and commercial success. As a result from both his successful DJing and recording endeavors, Dara has become one of the most recognizable faces on the US drum 'n' bass scene. He has been featured in countless magazine appearances and interviews both in the US and worldwide. Breakbeat Science is not only his label, but it is also the first and biggest drum 'n' bass store, co-founded by Dara. Dara has done an array of remixes including on singles from DJ's such as Keoki, Pizzicato Five, Dog Eat Dog, Black Nostaljack and Afrika Bambaata. With the recent eruption of Drum and Bass in the U.S., DJ Dara isn't going anywhere. There is no telling what kind of damage his next endeavors might do.

FREAKY FLOW and MC FLIPSIDE - 'The Envy' CD Release World Tour - Topaz Records, freakyflow.com - mcflipside.com - Toronto Canada

FREAKY FLOW - Topaz Records, djfreakyflow.com/Toronto Canada

Freaky Flow, originally from Philadelphia, PA, moved with his family to Toronto before reaching four years of age. He first took a serious interest in music at the age of eleven, mesmerized by soul jazz, garage house, and hiphop. Four years later, he purchased his first set of turntables and started spinning hiphop. Flow, transferred his knowledge of hiphop into this new, captivating music. He found that scratching and cutting had unique properties in accompaniment with jungle. Now Freaky Flow plays on a regular basis at major events throughout Canada, the US, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, and most recently England. Freaky Flow is known as one of the most versatile and technically skilled producer/DJ's in North America, and still labeled ‘Toronto's Jungle Scratchmaster’ by promoters, producers, and partygoers alike. Swarms of partiers may consistently be found huddled around the DJ booth when Flow is on the decks, watching his every move

MC FLIPSIDE Topaz Records, mcflipside.com/ Toronto, Canada

MC Flipside began reciting rhymes prior to birth, while still in his mothers whomb. During high school, Flipside became enveloped by all facets of electronic music, ranging from techno to house to breakbeat to jungle. The latter he found he could speak over best as it was the closest in speed and bass to the hip hop that he had original fallen in love with. Currently, Flip works professionally as a radio annoucer. his various radio shows featured guests like Josh Wink, Nigel Richards, King Britt, M.C.G.Q., Swan-E, Johnny L., Keoki, and Roger Sanchez, just to name a few. This praised MC frequents major events throughout Canada, the US, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, and most recently England. Flip's main focus is rockin' the microphone. Such is why Flipside has quickly became (arguably) the most sought after North American DnB contingent in the World. With such impeccable beats and rhymes that he projects, it's no wonder why!

TRIP THEORY (Live PA) Featuring DJ TRIP and DJ SUBLIMINAL - www.triptheory.com - www.innervisionmusic.com

Trip Theory is back once again to rock THE GLOBE THEATRE!!! DJ Trip and DJ Subliminal got a brand new kick ass show with a lot of new kick ass beats (MIAMI STYLE). All we gotta say is "they got the bass that quakes and they'll be kickin the breaks for your face". Miss it and you'll regret it.

MC ARMANNI - Substitution - 5sighted - Metalheadz - Gasm - MMI

Raised in Chester, Pa., David became a Hip-Hop based street poet. From the school lunch-tables to various house parties, he spoke and dropped his freestyles and lyrical compositions for nothing more then respect and credibility. Over the years he walked through small competitions and remained “Cipher Champion” on one of Philadelphia's hottest radio stations, Philly 103.9. This was the beginning of the hunger. Within the last two years ARMANNi\REIGN has acquired a love, and gathered more of an understanding for all types of music. While keeping his roots in Hip-Hop he is intrigued by Drum and Bass, and most importantly, its emcees. He studied the deliveries of names like MC Foxy, Dub2, and J-Messinian to understand the format and develop a style of his own. His skills have been recognized by most of the world including the MetalHeadz who have asked him to MC for the next tour. This master is sure to get the party going!
