16 injured when trains collide in Belgium

- Sixteen people were injured when two passenger trains collided head-on at slow speed close to the busy Liege station.

One of the two drivers was seriously injured but his life was not in danger, officials said. The accident occurred on a stretch where railworks had affected the train schedules, officials said.

Liege is located just miles east of where Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany meet.
