LONDON, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Shares in
Britain's Independent Energy took a
battering on Friday as investors took
fright at news that it has failed to
solve customer billing delays.

. . .

The company has already delayed announcing
its results as it struggles to resolve the
billing problem and on Friday it said they
will be issued at a later date. Its delayed
billings stood at 119 million pounds in June,
a month after regulator Ofgem made it agree
not to take on new customers untill it resolved
the problem.
