First of all I want to say thank you to Steve for the new catagories. Second of all I would like everyone's take on this. Commentary on UN Millenium Assembly Commentary from Eagle Forum of California's National SecurityChairman: SEPTEMBER ALERT!!! There is a feeding frenzy in the media concerning the Republican and Democrat conventions that will take place the beginning of August. The pretence that events will be exciting is a manufactured reaction because the candidates for both parties have previously been chosen. It is the partying, drinks and lots of food that typify the real motivations for celebrating something that has already happened. Many of the delegates to these conventions are millionaires or government officials so the high cost of hotel and transportation are of no consequence. Exceptions are the calculated inclusion of Latinos, Afro-Americans homosexuals, lesbians, disabled persons, and the correct number of women. While all this political public relations is going on in Philadelphia and Los Angeles the meeting of real consequence is taking place in NEW YORK on SEPTEMBER 6. So far there has been no mention by government officials or the media about this important meeting of the United Nations. The purpose of this gathering is to replace the 50 year old United Nations Charter with the new Charter for Global Democracy. Millennium Assembly will present the restructuring of the UN from a "debating society" into a world governance body. There will be representatives from 160 different countries, the largest gathering of world leaders ever to meet together at one time. Will the newspapers or TV devote any time to this? UN Secretary General Kofi Annans top aide, Canadian socialist Maurice Strong, was given the assignment of "reforming" the UN. Annan admitted the UN had picked up some bad habits (squandering millions of dollars and causing disasters in foreign countries) which required new remedies. Under the guise of reforming the financial and logistic aspects of the UN Strong was actually turning the international body into a global dictatorship. Using the buzz word "democracy" the US and UN set about creating democracies through out the third world. Russias corrupt political and economic system suddenly was declared to be a democracy. We were assured our $60 billion trade deficit with China would turn this communistcountry into a democracy also.Although the minority Islamic nations dont consider themselves to be democracies, this is of no consequence. All global systems will be integrated under one global control regardless. What are some of the points in this Charter? The following isprovided by the American Policy Center 1.All international agencies will be under UN control 2.Abolishes US veto power on the Security Council andallows the UN to interfere in internal American conflicts. 3.Cancels all 3rd world debt and calls for reduction of poverty through massive social welfare programs to provide housing, education, health care and family planning. 4.Establishes a permanent UN standing army. 5.Makes registration of all arms mandatory, and allows the UN to reduce US military forces. 6.Forces US to comply with "Human Rights" treaties the Senate hasnt ratified. 7.Establishes a global EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and creates an international EPA court to enforce treaties on the environment. 8.Creates a commission to set limits on economic activity and allocate carbon emissions based on equal per -capita rights. 9.Strengthens the International Court and makes its jurisdiction compulsory. In addition the UN will oversee all financial institutions, commerce, trade and labor relations, education and private property. The United Nations will have dominion over land, sea and air. Even the radio waves would be under their control. A suggestion for an international tax presented in 1996 was rejected by the US. John Sweeney, President of the AFL/CIO published a study on using the global "Tobin Tax" which would funnel billions of our taxpayer funds into the United Nations. This labor leader is an NGO (Non Governmental Organization)member of the UN. If adapted this tax would have a direct effect on pension funds, Iras and personal investment transactions. Regardless of the medias attempt to portray the UN as ineffective, THIS IS FOR REAL! Waste no time. Contact your politicians, write letters to the editor, call talk shows, and mail the information to friends and relatives. The country we save is our own. Nancy Culver Thomson, reporter for UROC

Not to worry, Montana and Idaho will do the impossible and secede. Not that I expect to win but it will split the country and cause "the defining moment" Many states will join them so that no foriegn army lands on our soil ! The time has come, The die is cast--Wag the Dogs of War ! If you want to write someone than suggest this--Destroy the United Nations Building, refuse entry to any foriegn delegate and withdraw from the League of Nations. For those of you who continue to believe you can pet the rabid dog--negotiate on. The time for idle rhetoric is OVER

I was researching this a few weeks ago. Here's the addy for their little manifesto. It makes for some real nice reading.

www.millenniumforum.org/html/papers/mfd26May.htm

Also of interest to those with any patriotism in their veins id the UN Secretary General's papers on the "Freedom From Want", "Freedom From Fear" and some other thing that I can't recall right now.

They are essentially legislating our laughable sovereignty away without even holding mock elections. But do check it outfor yourselves. They of course provide the in depth, shallow and press release versions of UN Sec. General edicts. I especially find the limitations of small arms to be of interest.

Lil Bit, see if your candidate for Pres. will respond to your inquiries on this. I received no reply when I inquired on it. A big row might wake up one or two of the "leaders", but it will have to be a big yell.

Doreen, Thanks for additional info. I always like to do my homework before I go screaming to my elected officials about something.

The thing that toasts my muffins about this is that by the time we get someone else in office to save our bacon, Clinton will have allowed this thing to be put in place already. This is what he has been trying to do for awhile. That is what this whole western land grab thing is IMHO. What better way to keep people from hiding in the national forests, than to make it a crime to be there. He is not trying to protect the environment, that is just what he thinks people will swallow. At that point we will have no choice but to fight or submit. Mark my words. There are a lot of countries just waiting to stick it to the old USA. They will all be here with bells on to supposedly peace keep.

Lil Bit, I want to apologze for sounding harsh in my above post. I was in a hurry and sometimes don't take enough care with my expressions when I am in a rush.

Here's the thing that really strikes me about all of this. In the Millennium Summit schedules they do not talk about ratifying anything that will supercede countries sovereignty, however their entire "We the Peoples" paper talks about enforcing the international laws that are not going to be enacted by elected representatives, but by NGO folks with no possible ramifications to themselves for their actions. There is alot of subterfuge going on and it's the power behind the "powers" that are manipulating everything. The NGO's through contract law can legislate our country's sovereignty away. The whole "contract law" thigng is very complex but it's all tied in to signing your rights away like for a drivers license, SSI and all of that kind of thing. I don't have the energy to get through all of it myself. I have only scratched the surface and it's enough to make you throw up your hands in disgust and walk away. Nonetheless, it is real and enforceable via the courts if you EVER participate. Some Sovereign sites have in depth explanations of this.

It is frustrating that you can't even hear about the really major things happening to our country on the "Nightly News". It's a diversio

Sheepish, I am curious to know your thoughts on the "We the Peoples" stuff as well as the UN Sec Gen's papers. I don't see any way to keep from being the World Police State without the US leaving the UN. Other points of view are welcome!

Doreen, I'll take a look at it. Summer qtr concludes this week and I'll have time soon.

For those who have read or are reading the "Left Behind" series by Timothy LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins their fictional account about the Second Coming may not be so fictional after all. Certainly is making me think.

Youre right about Clinton not being interested about the environment but it isnt to keep people from hiding there. Tresspass is illegal because that land doesnt belong to us any more. You know all those "global heritage" sites that are being set up when those lands are put off limits? Its because they are loan collateral. That little thing called the federal reserve. Its niether federal nor a reserve. Its private and runs on debt.

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
-- Thomas Jefferson

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
-- Thomas Jefferson

"We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our selection between economy and liberty or profusion and servitude.
If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat in our drink, in our necessities and comforts, in our labors and in our amusements, for our callings and our creeds...our people... must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses; and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live..
We have not time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow suffers.
Our landholders, too...retaining indeed the title and stewardship of estates called theirs, but held really in trust for the treasury, must...be contented with penury, obscurity and exile..private fortunes are destroyed by public as well as by private extravagance.
This is the tendancy of all human governments. A departure from principle becomes a precedent for a second; that second for a third; and so on, till the bulk of society is reduced to mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering...
And the fore horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in it's train wretchedness and oppression."
-- Thomas Jefferson

"All the perplexities, confusion and distress in America arise not from defects in their Constitution or Confederation, nor from want of honor or virtue, so much as downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit and circulation."
--John Adams

Joesph Farah, editor of www.worldnetdaily.com (an excellent news site) had a good editoiral about this 2 days ago. It can be seen under the heading of- Between the lines. That's the column name. Click on it and go to the archives at the bottom to see it. Also are links to the UN site http://www.millenniumforum.org/ and a link to email any Federal official. We had all better get on this one. This really is for real. Maybe we could all email the Farah column to everyone we know. It's a start. I get accused of being paranoid about this stuff and believing "conspiracy" stuff. Heck, this isn't some shadowy conspiracy, it's all up front and they aren't even trying to hide it! Anyone can read it, IF THEY KNOW ABOUT IT!! Why don't the major media report this. After seeing all of the misery Communism and socialism have brought to so many, I can't understand why anyone would fall for any of this. The language is very pretty at the millennium forum site. But the message is very plain and upfront. This is total subjectgation of the USA and it's people to another government.

Pardon the rant but I have been stewing about this for 2 days. People at work don't believe me when I tell them about this. I haven't heard back (other than the form email response) from my legislators yet. I got so mad I haven't been able to go back and read any more of the drivel. I don't work tomorrow, so I may get up early and read some more then. I will have to launch an email campain to all the members of Congress and Senate tomorrow.

Thanks for listening. This goes way past being a Homesteader concern. You won't be allowed to BE a homesteader if this sort of people (read Clinton, Gore and friends) get any more power than they already have. Thanks, John

John, there is no need to apologize for the rant. I think most have us have been derided by folks for speaking the truth and trying to demand accountability.

I haven't been able to find out much more about this, but there is supposedly another standoff going on here in Texas. Ala Waco and Ruby Ridge. Here is the addy for that story.....................................

www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/front/628282

Lil Bit, I was thinking on the "defining moment" that you and I both expressed in an earlier thread that Joel had started. Do you think our defining moment might be found while looking down the barrel of the NWO guns? (I am well aware of how dramatic that sounds!) I am sorry to say that I think that might be what happens. There are so many media block outs going on and we have to look for the real news and most people aren't even interested in it. All I have is questions about how to raise the awareness of people that would rather remain soundly asleep...........Have a happy day!

-- Doreen (liberty546@hotmail.com), August 11, 2000.

You've hit the nail on the head, Doreen. People would rather remain soundly asleep and submit to whatever treatment the NWO doles out for them. I own some videos that expose the U.N. and the NWO and show how they are plotting with the current administration to turn this nation into a police state run by foreign cops (aka UN). I've been trying to circulate them around, but half the people I try to give them to think they themselves are too level-headed to buy into such paranoia, and the other half that does watch them find some excuse to try and discredit everything. You are also right about the media black-out. That's what the whole Monica Lewinsky sex scandal was. Meanwhile Clinton's signing executive order after executive order into law. When the U.N. or NWO or whatever you want to call it does start to take control, it will have been done clearly under the color of law. It may not be U.S. law, but what does it matter when the U.S. gives up her sovereignty because its citizens are too busy watching baseball, the latest blockbuster, the latest sex scandal, going rock climbing, or even watching the frenzy of the upcoming election? Not only is the media participating in a black-out, they have done a smashing job desensitizing the people of this country to this sort of thing to the point where, if people like us try to inform them about it, we're looked upon as crackpots worthy of institutionalization. For the last month I, too, have been just fumed about this. I have been racking my brain day and night to come up with a way to do something about it, but to no avail. I vented, and I still don't feel any better. What does that mean?
