Garlic BURNS

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I just finished peeling around 40-50 heads of garlic from my garden. I'm going to put some in olive oil in the frige, and dry the rest. I learned something today....wear gloves!!! My finger tips are on fire!!! This is not something I am ever likely to forget. I've always been very careful with hot peppers, and I've grown garlic for several years, but usually cure and leave as is. Ouch...hope I can spare anyone else from making this mistake.

Cathy: Bummer! I will remember this information. Wonder if an over- the-counter sunburn relief spray would help...

Makes one wonder how you were able to type this warning -- did the keyboard burn up? Maybe some people are willing to endure anything for "the cause".

What variety did you plant? Sounds like I might want to plant some! GL!
