What's a word you have trouble defining? That you KNOW what it is, but can't come up with a satisfactory definition for? (For me, it's "science fiction". What about you?--Al

How about "hauntingly"? I have trouble with your use of this word in describing the similarity between Weblogs and Online Journals. A better word choice to get across the meaning you intend might be something like "fairly" or "vaguely" or "remotely" or "extremely" depending on what you mean. But I honestly doubt anyone is haunted (followed around as if by a ghost) by the idea of the similarity between Blargs and Online Journals.

Oh, I dunno, Gus. Yeah, it's easy to tell apart, say, Memepool from most OLJs. It's a little harder to tell apart weblogs like SQUIRREL BAIT, TANGLED IN THE WEB and ZACHSMIND--- to name just three which immediately come to mind---all of which are loaded with tons of personal subject matter and revelation....from a journal. As for hauntingly...I think an elusive, maddening, hard-to- define edge between some in the two genres deserves the ghostlike description. Of course---your mileage might vary.---Al

"Universal." I know what it means, but try thinking of an example. There isn't one. Nothing is universal. Even "nothing" is something to somebody. It's maddening.
