Plaing VCDs with Panasonic RV30

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

My DVD Player (Panasonic RV30) supports DVD/VCD/AudioCD. It can play VCDs, but it can not play the VCDs I have created, because I think it recognizes that they are CD-Rs.

Do you know some work around?

Thanks, ILVEN (ilven@mail.com)

i do not thin there is a work around. it is a physical limitation of your laser in your dvd player. you should make sure that your dvd player can recognize cd-r/rw material.

Try CD-RW media. Can't hurt, you can always reuse it. Many DVD players will recognize CD-RW better than CD-R.

Thank you Frankie, great help! My DVD player recognizes CD-RW.

If you are going to be playing and coping movies to cd-r discs or cd-rw discs, you might as well buy the movies that are already pressed on silver cds. I am not promoting piracy here but since the topic of playing cd-r movies was brought up, instead of doing all the copying, you might as well buy the silver pressed cds which come already factory pressed with front and back colored covers. These play well on most players including dvd players.

I too have a RV30 dvd player and it works just fine with CD-RW's, but cannot read CD-R's.
