U.S. Airways flight makes emergency landing at Logan

By Christopher A. Szechenyi, Boston.com Staff, 08/01/00

BOSTON -- A Boeing 737 en route from Boston to Washington, D.C. returned to Logan International Airport this morning and made an emergency landing after some of its 49 passengers and crew members noticed an electrical odor in the cabin.

US Airways flight 6507 landed at Logan Airport without incident at 6:41 a.m. Emergency medical personnel and fire department authorities were on hand at the time in the event of a problem, according to Phil Orlandella, a spokesman for the airport.

Some of the passengers complained of dizziness and of feeling nauseous. But none were hospitalized. "They're being booked on other flights," Orlandella said this morning.

He said the airline is investigating the source of the electrical odor. http://www.globe.com/news/daily/reporters/01/flight_lands.htm
