I would like to know where I could find of books on resistance welding, that is worte where a layman can understand it.

This is the link to the Resistance Welding Manufacturing Association. www.rwma.org I am sure you will find great literature there that will be very benificial to your requirements, as well as easy to understand.

If you attend something like the Resistance Welding Seminar at T.J. Snow, you receive a complete handbook to take with you. It combined with the common-sense instruction should give you a very good insight into resistance welding.
