Text of report in English by Russian news agency ITAR-TASS Vladivostok, 27th July: Head of Unified Energy System of Russia national electric utility Anatoliy Chubays has met with Maritime Territory governor Yevgeniy Nazdratenko "to map out a joint plan of action to overcome the acute energy crisis", the governor's press service said, but power plants are still starved of fuel.

The press service said Nazdratenko and Chubays discussed steps to be taken to improve the situation with electricity supplies in the region.

It quoted the regional boss as saying that "the electricity cut- offs must end within the next few days. This is our main task at the moment."

Meanwhile, the situation with fuel supplies to local power plants run by the regional utility Dalenergo is worsening. A power plant in the town of Partizansk remains idle, while the Vladivostok power plant has just one day of coal supplies left in store.
