politically correct whimps??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Have looked in on this site from time to time and have decided this is the most politically correct bunch of trigger locking whimps around. No need to post a reply, I'm out of here, misplaced city slickers.

I don't know what crawled up you butts , but hope you get it out soon ! If you don't like us don't come back !

Does anyone know what this is about? I'd lock triggers if I had any. LOL

-- Anne (HT@HM.com), July 27, 2000.

When our dreams die or we don't have any dreams-life is over! At that point Jesus Christ will ask us why we gave up. I always greet a new day with eagerness and possiblities. I'm living on borrowed time and don't want to waste one second of it! My job is not over here on earth---so, I have dreams--BIG DREAMS! Sorry for those that don't have dreams and expectations. Matt. 24:44

I suppose we're not redneck enough for some folks. What the **** is wrong with people? If you don't feel that a forum fits with your views -- LEAVE.

Plenty, plenty of other sites to visit, my friend. Good luck to you.

-- sheepish (rborgo@gte.net), July 28, 2000.

I'm sorry, I must have missed something. What the heck brought this on??? I try to keep up, but I must have missed whatever it was that caused those two to get ther panties up in a bunch. Hopefully it's not the troublemakers that are being ignored at the BWH forum. Oh well, back to lurking.

-- John (mr_440@hotmail.com), July 28, 2000.

Did I miss something? I'll bet Joel has NEVER been accused of being politically correct-LOL, nor have I.... maybe he was talking about Little Bit Farm.. what do you think? he-he!!! What Fun? Wendy

I am clueless.....a cyberspace hit and run....I have a trigger lock on my weed whacker...does that count?????

-- Lesley (martchas@gateway.net), July 28, 2000.

No trigger locks at our house - c'mon by fellas - be happy to prove it to you.

-- Polly (tigger@moultrie.com), July 28, 2000.

Can't believe some people but guess it does take all kinds. Just glad all kinds don't take up residence. I personally like us bunch of misplaced city slickers. gail

Ray: It's wimps, without an "h". I think this started when I asked for gun advice a couple threads ago.

-- Shannon (Grateful Acres Animal Sanctuary) (gratacres@aol.com), July 28, 2000.

Oh yeah, we are all so politically correct. Perhaps this is one of those false e mail addresses....I've never seen either of these guys post a thing before, and there have been plenty of politically incorrect threads on this forum. I second whomever suggested they come on by to see the lack of trigger locks. I'd be happy to introduce you both to Mr. 870.

-- Doreen (livinginskin@yahoo.com), July 28, 2000.

I suspect he hasn't seen my replies on the political post a little ways above. I imagine he got the idea we were overly PC because someone yesterday recommended trigger locks. I thing trigger locks are a silly idea and it's totally unrealistic to think they would save any lives, but it's not that big a deal. I'm pretty redneck myself and proud of it.

-- Joe Cole (jcole@apha.com), July 28, 2000.

To bad there are people out there like him. Guess they like to hit and run, and can`t take the answer he would get. Who cares if any of us are politically correct or not. This is one place I can forget about Politics, and focus on other things, like our gardens, animals and getting good ideas for our Farms, homesteads and etc.

It's just a cyber-pimple. If we don't pick at it, it'll go away on it's own.

-- snoozy (allen@oz.net), July 28, 2000.

I like the way everyone can speak their minds here without people getting offended , even when a post occasionally pushes the envelope. It's kinda like our Constitution (which gives us those rights we all hold dear). As far as trigger locks go, I perfer education also, as long as people have the sense to handle them safely and guarantee their children can do the same. If someone can't ensure saftey through intellegent handling then that person probally does need a "no brainer trigger lock". And untill children are old enough to understand how to respect and handle the power of a firearm, its either triggerlocks or no firearm within their grasp.

-- Jay Blair (jayblair678@yahoo.com), July 28, 2000.

I guess I started this! I am the one who mentioned trigger locks! I thought I had read that she had children! I have a house full of guns~ A loaded(w/ hollow-point) 357 beside my bed~ no trigger lock but my children are all gone and I don't have grandchildren!!! I think,if they really knew me, they probably would call me anything but PC! Yes, I can break a gun down, clean it and I am a Champion with a handgun and a rifle! Yes, I am a lifetime member of the NRA! And D___ proud of it!! Sorry, to piss in your cornflakes BOYS but I can handle my guns!!!!!

-- Debbie T in N.C. (rdtyner@mindspring.com), July 28, 2000.

Well, I guess I am PC on a few things, but not when it comes to economics or my right to bear arms. My guns are simply tools. They stay in their place until I need them. I liken them to my shovel. I don't take the shovel out and brandish it. It just hangs on its hook until I need to dig a hole. It has no lock on it. How foolish to lock up a gun or its trigger. Children can be trained not to get the shovel out and dig unnecessary holes. They can also be trained not to get out the guns and shoot things up. A gun with a trigger lock is reduced to a blunt-force instrument. Those who believe in the locks; Save yourself some money, and just buy a baseball bat.

This one went over my redneck but--I know I will never be politically correct and I don't give a *&^&^ about my lack of etiquette. As far as I'm concerned the world could still be flat and if the thrill is gone than it's time to take it back !

-- Joel Rosen (Joel681@webtv.net), July 28, 2000.

Being politically correct equals Countryside forum reader/contributor? What's he smoking?

-- Cindy (atilrthehony_1@yahoo.com), July 28, 2000.

Well the way I see it we all have to be something! Common sense is what should rule ones thinking process. The rest is basically irrelevent as far as I'm concerned. Me politically correct? I don't think so!! I haven't been on this forum very long, but as far as I can see there aren't any "politically correct trigger locking wimps" here as far as I know! But as long as there is a first ammendment everyone has a right to say what they feel, good or bad. My 2 cents for today.

I think this was a stir the etick in the anthill thing. They are lying. They check back everyday to see what kind of responses they got. Hoot, your reply is probably what all ours should be like. Thanks. John in S. IN

-- John (chuxorama@netscape.net), July 29, 2000.

Well said, Bob Johnson.

-- Cindy (atilrthehony_1@yahoo.com), July 29, 2000.

Snoozy -- LOL!!! Cyber pimple -- I love it!!!

I wonder -- just a thought, but do you think we could have been visited by the jealous BWH editorial crew??? You know -- destroy what you can't have and all that? Just a thought...

Wow!This was wierd! ~Tracy~ ps-God bless!

Not worth a response, but since this is cyberspace, I have to say it so you know I'm not responding. ;-)

***this is not a response.
