Me personally, I love Raimi. I think if anyone can capture the sence of humor it'll be him.

The suit looks good so far.

At least he didn't put nipples on it.

Well at least Raimi seems to be giiving SpiderMan the right amount of care, and it looks well on its way to being an adaptation just as-if not better than the X-Men. I am excited about this one again. I like he is keeping Cameron's organic shooters, the initial drawings seem ok, but until the suit is made and on someone it aint gonna be a definate drool factor :) I also hope the bad guys are treated well, ie that they are 3dimensional characters and not the Batman n Robin Mr Freeze types ;( Yes!! No nipples wooohoo, lets just hope there is no 6ft Cod piece either :)

I'm torn on the web shooter issue. I think I'm leaning toward organic. It would be too much to swallow that he invents them, so I think this is an improvement on the character not a bastardization. Besides, why wouldn't web shooters with buttons in the palm shoot off every time he grabbed something? Like a cup of coffee.

"Hey, thanks for the coffee."

"Sure Spidey, here you go."

Hands Spidey the coffee..

"SSSpppppppppoooooittt"

"Oh, jeez. I'm sorry. Let me get that off you."

Grabs webbing, triggering buttons again.

"SSppppooooooooooooit"

Spidey and the coffee guy are now stuck together.

"Damn"

"Yup"

"How's the coffee?"

"Not bad."

I think they should make his climbing, swinging and jumping all CGI. Wires will make him seem too slow. He should be goddamn fast. Ever see a spider jump or grab something? I really hope it's CGI.

I agree, it has to be fast, and I think the X-MEN finale is proof, where the speed of Wolverine swinging on the Statue of liberty and then lunging at Sabertooth just seems way too slow. On the Big screen effects shots like those can be very annoying. Could u imagine sloppy effets of entire streets of New York, and Spiderman swinging down at slow motion or even normal speed. I don't think it would look great. But when it comes to short range movements, I am sure wire work will look fine.

Personally i always saw Spidey as a skinny guy.... not really muscular... light and agile, you know? so im kind of disappointed in the costume design...hes too bulky. Of course, that could be that the picture just got a little squished on the computer. I love the whole alienation thing, so seeing a kid slinking through school with his hands hidden should definitely make Spidey a true character with a background and more realistic. Unlike godawful batman. God help us.

Light and Agile might be what happens. Looks like former Cirque Du Soleil ballerina, Helena Buonfiglioli, was hired to choreograph Spidey's movements. Things might work out.

I hope, I hope, I hope.

Oh, man. If they really hired a former Cirque performer to choreograph Spidey's movements, we're all set. I just saw a Cirque du Soleil performance this weekend, and my head fell off, I was so amazed.

I agree, Spidey needs to be light and agile. I'm kind of hoping that Tobey Maguire doesn't bulk up too much for this. From the pictures of him up on Corona Coming Attractions right now (http://www.corona.bc.ca/films/details/spiderman.html ), it looks like he's got the build of a gymnast going on, which is perfect.

Plus, Tobey's hot. Rrowr.

Is anyone here not a Simpsons fan? (I'll shoot anyone who says yes)

I read they're not putting Eddie 'Venom' Brock in, probably devoting a sequel to him. I hope they do, Venom is awesome. But my point: Hank Azaria (Simpsons' Apu and Wiggum, among others) is Brock's voice in the cartoon. I know he doesn't look like Brock, but I still think he should be signed. Venom'll be CGI anyway, right?

Also, Hydro-man is absolutely terrific. His voice, Rob Paulsen, is everyone. I you've watched a cartoon in the past, say, 10, 15 years, you've heard him. I'm a fan, can you tell?

I'm not giving an overview of his incredible credit listing unless I get a reply showing someone cares - but I am dying to. Gotta go. Don't disappoint me!

Hank Azaria kicks ass. I think he can do pretty much anything. I'd have to say the most impressive cartoon voice of all time is Mark Hamill. His Joker on the Batman series is near-god-like.

I swear I'd give him a read for the Joker just on his voice merits.

Did I mention that I wanted to do a film about the Joker one day. Mad Love maybe?

-- Michael Fitts (michael@noextraday.com), September 20, 2000.

I agree, Hamill's Joker is excellent, especially considering he had Nicholson to top. But I've never heard him do anything else (except Powerpuff Girls!), and a voice actor has to be versatile I think. And as you said, Azaria can do anything.

New question: What superpower would you want to possess?

Flying Invisibility Hydro-Man ('become one' with any liquid nearby, and blast waves and play fire-hose) Spidey's "spidersense" Frank Welker (the ability to imitate the sound of, well- anything or anyone (he is the original Fred from Scooby: "Let's split up, gang!", and LL Cool J's parrot in Deep Blue Sea))

(www.imdb.com/Name?Welker,+Frank) I'm torn between Hydro and Frank.
