Have recently discovered that "The Kingfisher Illustrated History of the World" is no longer in print and yet it is one of the most highly recommended books for homeschoolers. Does anyone have access to a copy or know where a copy can be purchased?

Although this book is no longer in print the revised version of it is. Its called "The Kingfisher History Encyclopedia". From what I've heard its even more comprehensive and easy to use. It's on my list of books to get for this year. Amazon carries it.
