Solo Albums

greenspun.com : LUSENET : R.E.M. : One Thread

I heard that R.E.M. (without Stipe) recorded an album with Warren Zevon (Whoever he is!) under a different band name in the early nineties. Is this true, and is it any good? And does anyone know anything about Micheal Stipe's solo album? I heard he recorded one, but it was never released!?!!!? Have I got my facts right? Also, Does anyone else think Mike Mills should do a solo album one day? He's multi-talented and plays loads of instruments, as well as being a half decent singer and songwriter! Of course, he'd have to find a time when R.E.M. weren't busy doing something else... I hope someone can answer all these questions!

Peter, Mike, and Bill did and album with Warren Zevon called Hindu Love Gods. It is, in my opinion, a good album and worth buying if you can find it. I read an interview a few years ago in which Michael said that he would only do a solo album if R.E.M broke up. I think that if the band ever does break up, Mike and Michael should both do solo albums. They're both very talented in their own ways and could probably be successful on their own. I hope I answered all of you questions.

Truly y'all. Mikie should 100% do a solo album. OMG..he's o'so talented and as a song writer and singer...it would fly off the store shelves. I would truly be the first to stand in line, waiting for my copy. That's for sure. (giggle, giggle) And like, it would be o'so truly interesting if Peter would do one. Golley, that man can sure string those cords. Hee-haw! (giggle, giggle) As for his sing abilities...I would truly died to hear Peter hum a few bars. Wouldn't y'all?
