1. The blood of Christ speaks of Jesus' voluntary self-sacrifice on the cross for our sins.

1 Pt 1:18,19 - "Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemishedand spotless, the blood of Christ."

Jo 1:29 - "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."

Rev 1:5b - "To Him who loved us, and released us from our sins by His blood."

2. By the price of His blood, Jesus accompplished three great works at the cross.

Ro. 3:23-25 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of Gof, being JUSTIFIED (declared righteous) as a gift by His grace through the REDEMPTION (payment of a penalty) which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a PROPITIATION (Divine satisfaction) in His blood through faith."

3. The finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross is sufficient to provide salvation for all men.

Rev 5:9 - "And they sang a new song, saying, 'Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to break its seals; for Thou wast slain, and didst purchase for God with Thy blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.'"

Jo 12:32 - "And I, if I be lifted up (crucified) from the earth, will draw all men to Myself."

4. However, to receive the benefits of Jesus' blood we must believe in Him.

Jo 6:29,47,54 - "Jesus answered and said to them, 'This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.....Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life....He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood (i.e.- believes in His life and death) has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.'"

Jo 1:12 - "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name."

5. The blood of Christ continues to cleanse the believer from all sins.

1 Jo 1:7 - "But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin."

6. It is through the blood of Christ that we can be reconciled to God and have peace with Him.

Eph 2:13 - "But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ."

Col 1:20 - "Through Him (Jesus) to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of Christ."

Ro 5:1 - "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

7. The term "blood of Christ" encompasses the entire scope of the spiritual sacrifice of Christ on the cross.

Heb 9:14 - "How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works (religion without faith) to serve the living God?"

Yes, no doubt there has been plenty of blood spilled "in the name of Christ".

Mohammed is the true Prophet. Jesus was a false prophet. Death to all Christian infidels! Death to America!
