Alpine Star Inserts???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : New England Motocross Racing : One Thread

I just picked up some sole inserts for my Alpine Star Tech 7's. Along with screwing them in place, I would think it's a good idea to glue them down as well. Can anyone recommend a type of glue or contact cement to use - or is any contact cement OK? I don't want these things falling off after one ride!

Thanks.

I already did this this year and had bad luck with it. I used the Alpinestar glue that they recommend.. It didn't last.. I bought the whole sole after that and had a shoe cobbler replace the whole thing.. So far this has been working out much better...

Good luck.. Ron

Fortunately, I do have the whole sole (the dealer screwed up and ordered the whole sole instead of just the inserts). I guess I'll look into a cobbler. Geez, I did not realize cobblers still exist!

Thanks for the info...

I had a cobbler repair some MX boots for me once. He didn't even know what they were! I told him the fix doesn't have to be pretty but it MUST be strong! They feel apart in 2 rides. Instead of 80.00 for novice boots, I now invest 180.00 for some that work. You get what you pay for with MX boots.
