The exposure over the frame screams for a graduated ND filter, maybe a couple. Without it, detail on the rock and the water in the forground is lost. Also, the bright upper left of the frame is pulling the eye away from the bottom center.

The concept is fine, the exposure is the tricky part. What lens is this taken with? A wider lens might get more of the rock in without, or so it looks to me, tilting the film back as much. I could be wrong on that though.

Yep...I agree with Chris....and you may need a little more defined subject of interest.

Canon 28-70 2.8L lens.

Thanks...

I think the subject matter is fine; I agree, and think that the exposure was killed by the sky. This looks like a good grad ND candidate...

Great colors in the sky; as above, a grad ND was probably in order. The horizon is nice and straight.

tait, i have been an admirer of your work for quite a while, but i must say that this image falls short of your previous efforts. while i think i know what your goal was here, both the washed out sky and the "crinkled" surface of the sea combine to make success impossible. of course, i still look forward to your next posting.
