Perseverance

This was taken on the same trip as my last post.
Velvia, tripod, Canon EOS 620, 28-70 3.5-4.5, aperture priority at f/22 and 28mm.

I remembered to close the center tag this time!

Answers

This scene, echoed over and over in nature, never ceases to amaze me. I think I'd like to see the rest of the rock rather than the frame cutting off the sides, especially to the right; seems to me that as is the forest in the background seems a bit incidental, and a wider shot might help frame the rock a little better. This may be more of an issue of personal choice, but then, what critique isn't?

Jeremy, What a weirdly wonderful shot. Pardon the expression but this image really got a hold on me. I keep coming back and studying it and wondering what other possibilites it might hold if shot from different angles. There are qualities here that would be worth returning for - strength, disease, captivity - when you come across a similar subject. Try popping a bit of fill flash into this type of scene; it may help in the shadows at the bottom (or maybe not). PS The little red and white thingy on the bottom left is distracting to my eye.
