Pentax 67 120 Soft Focus lens

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

I just picked up a super clean 120 SF lens for $ 355 at ebay ! Summer is the time to buy - prices always are lower in summer ! Can others tell me about their experiences with this lens & I understand there are colored lines on the barrel - what are they for ?

Thanks

The 120mm is indeed rare and has only been made since about 1987. It is a four element design that is corrected for all aberrations except for spherical. That is why it is soft wide open and improves as you stop it down. It is probably usable for macros and landscapes stopped down. SR

That's a good price. If you look through the old messages on this forum and the MFD Pentax 67 topic you'll find relatively little discussion of that lens. Doesn't seem to be real popular.
