(New York-WABC, July 14, 2000) _The reliability of Con Edison is questioned again after a tree limb touches a power line in Yonkers and disrupts subway service in Manhattan. The power hit not only delayed subway riders on Thursday, it caused lights to flicker across Manhattan. The question for Con Ed: how could something as harmless as a tree limb cause so many problems? Marcus Solis reports. Trees and power lines don't mix, so today crews were busy trimming limbs from a neighborhood in Yonkers. Yesterday, a limb came into contact with a transmission line carrying 350,000 volts of electricity. The tree was burned. The line went out of service.
