What makes you think it was BTM's "job" to eliminate pollies from the forum? According to his own statements, he was simply trying to foster debate on interesting and varied subjects by deterring the more banal browbeating that was going on. It is certainly questionable whether his tactics had any effect, or were even sensible to begin with, but I don't recall him claiming that he was trying to run pollies in general out of here.

I'm not trying to troll. The worst you could accuse me of is responding to a troll (or maybe two, since I'm responding to you). I agree with you Privateer that you are not trolling, but I think you misuderstand the greatness that is BIG@TEXT.MAN. He tried (successfully) to rid this board of CPR's constant gloating. But he also aimed at Andy Ray, Andy Ray hasn't fled like a chicken yet. So therefore THE JOB AIN'T DONE YET.

Howdy Ra. I haven't been around for weeks now. The reason? I got sick and tired of the repetitious "nyah nyah you're a stoopid moron" posts. IMHO, those posts will be the death knell of this forum if they continue much longer. I think it's pretty close now.

Just an FYI...I was not a Y2K "doomer"...sorry. No "preps" here...zero, zip, nada. I was hopeful when this new forum started that it would become a gathering place for some of the interesting posters from both sides of the Y2K debate to gather and engage in vigorous discussion of non-Y2K topics. There are some fine minds here, as difficult as that has become to see.

Alas, after a 3-week absence, it looks like this forum is to be forever frozen in time as the Death to Doomers forum. Unpleasant. Boring. OLD. In catching up on some threads here, I see that even some of the "Pollies" are asking cpr and Andy Ray to stop. I don't think it's gonna happen.

I'm out again. Not much here that engages my interest or intellect anymore. I'll be checking back in another few weeks. I predict (dontcha just love predictions?) that by October 31,2000 there will be less than 5 people posting here, and 2 of them will be cpr and Andy Ray. They will have succeeded in ending this forum. They will feel good about that.

I respectively disagree with your prediction of extinction regarding this forum. The charm is the ebb and flow dont you know. Coming and going is cool but you miss some of the twists and turns when you do that. Remember that its summertime and the volume is turned down for a few months. Hang in thereIm off to the game.

I dont know CPR too well but you can rest assured that Mr. Andy Ray is a first class person.
