Does anyone have experience of this catechol / glycin 2-bath developer?

I'm curious too. Is it proprietary, or can we get the formula for it?

I havent used DiXactol, but the people on the Pure Silver list really like it. Barry Thornton, the guy who came up with it, has a web page for it here.

Pure Silver list?

I've used DiXactol with Neopan 400, HP5+, Tmax 400, and Fortepan 400. The developer worked well with all of these films. I was especially impressed with the lack grain and good tonal range of the Neopan. As with all developers, it takes a while to adjust time and temperture to your needs.

It's become my standard developer of choice, just bear in mind the warning about contaminated spirals, I eventually bought all new ones, and keep this set just for DiXactol.
