What are you afraid of? Do you feel stupid for it?

There was a show on Discover the other night about bugs and creepy crawlies that are dangerous to people. They started with poisonous spiders and bullet ants. No biggie. I'd freak if they were crawling on my, but I can watch them on TV.

But with the other insects and shit they got into, by the end of the hour I felt that special kind of sick feeling that's usually reserved for detailed consideration of a vasectomy procedure. I felt ridiculous when I realised that a TV program would make me feel physically ill just by telling me about creatues that exist in nature.

Stupid enough? If not, I'm sure I could think of something worse. :-)

Alzheimer's - - which as near as I can understand it is a body driven, unoccupied by personality. I fear that and the load on my family. Stricken dumb and paralyzed by stroke, cognizant but unable to communicate. Do I feel stupid ? No ? If the fear were an unreasoning, panicky obsession and I knew it so, Yes, oh Yes - - - then I would feel stupid.
