I agree with you on this one, Charlie. The poster who "railed" Patricia didn't SIMPLY present links to what she'd said. The poster did the GOP thing and got into her sex life. I saw the thread on which Sysman conveniently ignored that part of it all. He's been on this forum long enough to know that Patricia has openly stated that she has no problems with ANYONE. He's stated that he, personally, has had run-ins with various people, but that he's "made up" with them. I guess it's a one-way street. If HE's going the one way, all is fine.

You need to understand that Sysyman is not a formally trained programmer. And that the institution for which he works allows him to hire degreed professionals.

Put the pieces together and you find a company that demonstrates their cashflow generating capabilities by: 1) hiring a doomer; 2) allowing the doomer to hire people; 3) not requiring educated people at the hiring level; 4) not requiring programmers intelligent enough to discern the proper outcome of Y2k at the hiring level; and 5) allowing people who believe that their years of experience alter the effects of programmes on society at the hiring level.

I'm surprised he earns minimum wage...

I would personally gamble large sums that this institution is either academic or governmental in nature. Such utter failure is not tolerated in the business sector. And, I am surprised, given even this, that they are still viable in their given sector!

Sorry, not having a college degree does not equate to not being formally trained. I'll put it this way, I've been with the same company for the past 16 years, and I have taken at least one course per year, often two, paid for by the company. I have more MS "certifications," among others, than I can remember. And this didn't start when I came to this company. Remember Andy, computers are not only but job, but also my hobby.
But here's a real shocker for you Andy. Not only do I hire programmers these days, but I have taught college level mainframe assembly language classes in the past. That's right Andy, me, a king doomer (at least according to you), teaching the youth of this country. What have we come to!?!?!?
And once again, Andy, sorry, but wrong again. I do work for a private company. A very successful private company in Princeton. How about you, Andy. How's your life going these days?
