Opposites attract... then what?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Commixion Question of the Day : One Thread

You often hear the expression, "opposites attract". I'm wondering if you believe thats true... and once they do attract, do they last? Do you have any stories that go along with this? Any experiences you'd be willing to share. Sure opposites attract, but where does it go fromthere.

well, I'm not sure, since I usually find a common ground with someone before I like them. it is quite interesting to learn their interests though. if you both had the same interests it would get boring and you'd eventually want to go your separate ways...the enthusiasm and excitement in the relationship would be gone. anyway, there usually should be a common ground like, you both like go shopping or you both like to draw. something to start things off but if they happen to like to play an instrument or have other interests that you don't share, it might intrigue you to appreciate it and gaining true insight into that person's soul. umm I think I'm getting too deep but you get the main picture!

common ground + intriguing interests opposite of you own = good
