And they all do the same thing -- all the popular "fear leaders": Hyatt, North, Yourdon, etc......... I am sure any help or technical advice on getting our board back on track would be welcomed. Seems to me the problem lies in either a bad set-up of the board (as was suggested here somewhere) or by the fact that an inexperienced person is running the board (again, suggested here). He/she/it definitely missed some of my better work, though (missed the wonderful exchange eve and I had on Debunker's final day). And thanks to he/she/it, I was able to go through the archives and read some of it. It was kind of a nice "trip down memory lane" for me.
Just ignore it; it will go away. It comes back in different incarnations every month or so.....I hadn't realized it was "that time again". Going to have to check my calendar more closely. Shame on me ;-)

It really isn't fair to equate these sort of actions with a persons view of Y2K, after all, LL endded up a polly and she has had a lot of rude things to say about other females. We need to stop labeling "polly" and "doomer" and address people for their other actions, not make overall generalizations about them because of what their Y2K view was pre-rollover.
I mean after all, not all people who were worried about Y2K are inherently bad and not all people who were not taken in by the "experts" are good.
Being wrong about Y2K does not negate the rest of their positive character traits.
Just because someone believed Y2K would be a problem it does not mean that they are going to be wrong about everything they say and do. It also does not mean they are "BAD" people.
For some it could mean that they have to think before they post, or think about who they listen to, not blindly accept what they are told because the person speaking holds some kind of credentials that "should" back up their words. Now those who are guilty of propagating the Y2K disaster idea for their own agendas should be held responsible.
But to automatically assume that the person who is attempting to bash Patricia who was a "doomer" doesn't make sense, it could have been said by anyone, their Y2K view has nothing to do with their acting like the looser they are proving themself to be.
Labeling people and running the concept into the ground like a lot of people on both sides are doing here is nothing more than the bigotry that gets expressed by people about those of different races, religions, country of origion, those with different favorite colors, baseball teams or computer preference.
