2 Hurt In Leak, Explosion

An ammonia leak and explosion last night at the Hanover Foods Plant in the 900 block of North Plum Street in Lancaster injured two people.

A worker at the plant, 51-year-old Robert Kellenberger of New Providence, was taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in suburban Philadelphia with second and third degree burns. A nearby resident was treated and released from Community Hospital of Lancaster after inhaling ammonia. Several Hanover employees put out a fire started by the seven o'clock explosion and stopped the ammonia leak minutes after the explosion. Officials believe oil mixing with the the ammonia caused the explosion.
