NESC Revolution .. What is the final objective ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : New England Motocross Racing : One Thread

Let me preface this note by a brief introduction. I started riding motocross with my kids around 3 years ago. I'm 45, race like a slug (Jeez, I wanna be fast!) but I have a blast doing it with my kids. I'm in it for the fun ... good times with my boys... nothing else. We are members of both NEMA and NESC, although we primarily race NEMA because it is more youth oriented. From my standpoint, NESC caters to the Expert riders.

I'm the guy on the '00 YZ426.

In general I like the people, the places we travel and the tracks. Yeah, some are better than others, but after seeing the condition of Southwick at the Nationals this year, I'll never complain about a rough track!

It's rather obvious that a large number of the expert NESC riders are less than enchanted with the NESC and the track owners. A revolution has started. But the real question is, what is the final objective ? Calling the NESC officials names and bad mouthing the track OWNERS isn't going to accomplish anything other than establishing huge walls betweeen the two parties. THIS CAN'T BE GOOD for either side.

So, before this gets way out of hand (it already has IMHO), you NESC Experts and all of those that are interested in change need to define exactly what it is you are looking for. You need to, as a group, clearly define the objective.

Think about it carefully, what do you, as a group, really want to accomplish here ? Once that is defined, then you'll have to decide exactly how to accomplish those goals. Are they in fact even attainable ?

This is obviously an emotional issue for a large number of NESC experts and the track owners. Don't let your emotions get in the way of a resolution. I'm sure mistakes have been made on both sides of the fence.

It's got to be killing you guys not to ride today at Middleboro.

Just some food for thought. I'll be at Uxbridge today if any of you guys want to talk. I'm also willing to help out any way I can.
