I have recently downloaded some Japanese TV shows. After extracting the files with WinRAR, it becomes one .avi file. How do I change it to a format so I can burn it to a CD to watch on a conventional VCD machine? What kind of software do I need for it?

I am currently using an Athlon 650 system, 128mb RAM with a Panasonic 8x4x32x CDR-W. I am also using Nero 4.0.

Encode, Encode, Encode!

You need Panasonic Mpeg1 or Ligos or Xing encoders, put the settings to VCD and let your PC run all night long. Will probably take 14 hours or so. Then just burn the VCD compliant mpeg to a cdr or cdrw and it should work. Use silver media.

hmmm avi in rar from download....could be divx. You'll need divx codecs for the encoding process.

use "avi2vcd" program to ENCODE the avi file to mpeg which you can download freely from www.mnsi.net/~jschlic1/ its 185 kb zip file and completely free.you can find more info in the site.then burn the mpeg file to cd by usin nero or adaptec easy cd creator delux 4.01

hi i think you shold you TMPGEnc iss a best software to convert movies to avi to mpeg i m also using that right now you can download it off from kazaa good luck :)
