Numbers... six or eight inches tall ??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : New England Motocross Racing : One Thread

Hi everyone.. I'm a novice rider and I want to know if I can use the 8 inches numbers for my three digits # ? or do i have to use 6 inches ? I noticed some riders with three digit # used 8 inches. I'm confused.. any info would be helpful. Thanks,

You need to use 6" numbers for a 3 digit number.. 8" numbers are for 2 digits.

NP-5 reads: All three digit numbers on motorcycles must be 6 inches tall. CA-9 Jerseys numbers: 8 inches tall. (The only exception is the 50 & 65cc class, plate and jersey numbers, 3 inches tall. (Can we all hear Andy's voice....READ THE RULE BOOK!) LOL.

And if you don't have the right ones you may get thrown out if there not right !! " warnings are being abolished !!! you might want to see the "DICK" on that one !!!!!!!!!!!!

And what about seven inch numbers? Well when N-Style owner Rob Healy first came out with them he tried to tell Andy C that those were the numbers all three digit guys should be running, that the AMA loved them. Well Rob's not the one to give up and the more he tried to force Andy to approve the seven inch numbers the more dead set against them the NESC became. So they were never approved and N-Style made six inch numbers, basically for the NESC

I use the 7 inch numbers and never had a problem. Run them, if they fit on the number plates.
