Doulas in NJ

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Doula.Com General Discussion : One Thread

I am a new birth and postpartum doula in Northwest New Jersey. I am wondering if there are any more doulas in my area that I could network with. I am hoping to find someone to provide back-up for me and I for her.

Greetings, Rebecca! I am a Doula in southern NJ willing to travel to be a back-up for you. Doulas are a relatively new concept here and clients (except for volunteer work) are few. I am a member of A.L.A.C.E. and am trying to start a Doula practice. Would love to hear from you...Cyn

I (Neil) am writing this on behalf of my wife (Colleen) who is interested in becoming a Doula. We live in Ocean County, NJ. Any ideas on who she should talk to? What are the typical pre-reqs for a Doula? What issues are unique to NJ? Basic, "I want to do this but don't know where to start." type info.

Thanks!

Neil (& Colleen)
