Oprah is more than just a talk show host, she is kind of ampormorphism of the collective pshcye of the American population. Her weight is not as important as the cash she generates, and believe you me, she does generate the old green backs.

The Oprah we are currently blessed with is a very well-read person who is generous of spirit as well as her pocketbook when it comes to the American community (check out her Angel Charity as well as her efforts and support for Habitat for Humanity). She has done more than any current day American to lift the spirit and awareness and self-recognition of women than anyone else I can think of. If any of you here can say you have done as much for other human beings, please list your accomplishments below. Feel free to flame away, fellow forumites, but be willing to back it up. Her weight is inconsequential to the positive addition she has been to humanity. I challenge any one on this board to show that they have done nearly a tenth as much.

This is a VERY subjective question, which I learned last night at the grocery store. The clerk handling my sale began talking about "doing it backwards." [If that didn't raise a question in YOUR mind, I'll confess that it did in MINE.] I then learned that she was discussing jogging. It seems that if one jogs backwards a different impact to the body is obtained than simply jogging forwards. She went on to say that she and the clerk with whom she was speaking were trying to lose weight. I said, "I am, too."I'm 20 pounds overweight based on height and weight charts. Actually, I didn't need height and weight charts to notice that those size 8's could maybe be buttoned, but that the button would fly off at my first sneeze or cough. These girls were INCENSED that *I* was concerned with losing weight. *I* feel like a fatty, but THEY'RE trying to get themselves to where I am NOW.
The moral of this story is "Never discuss weight with folks heavier than you."
