Miami-bound plane lands in emergency

FORT MYERS - A plane bound for Miami from San Francisco made an emergency landing at Southwest Florida International Airport after the pilot reported a smoky haze in the cockpit. United Airlines Flight 985 landed safely at 10:25 p.m. Monday. None of the 157 people on board was injured, airport spokeswoman Susan Sanders said.

The plane, a Boeing 767, was diverted to Fort Myers when the pilot reported the haze, Sanders said.
