When I play Hong Kong VCDs on my PC, I always get mandarin. How can I convert the language to Cantonese? As well, are VCDs popular in England?

Don't use window media player to play the Hong Kong VCD. You must use player like cyberlink vcd player cos' you can select the channels e.g cantonese or mandarin.

It depends on your VCD. If your VCDs have both Mandarin and Cantonese, then you can either:

1. For PC: use your Window's Volume Control to adjust the volume output to either left or right speaker; or

2. For standalone VCD/DVD player: you can use MPX button to switch between two different languages.

However, if the VCDs were recorded only in Mandarin, there is nothing you can do.
