How does Kodak siphon work?

I am setting up a darkroom and purchased a used Kodak siphon washer that came without instructions. Can anyone tell me how you are supposed to operate it? Thanks.

Just put the drain end so that it empties into a sink, and start filling with water, it will prime itself and drain from the tray you are using, you will need to ajust the flow of water to the amount being siphoned off. Pat

be sure you don't have the water flow rate too low or the siphon won't work and the tray will overflow...not that it happened to me........

If you are washing a few prints together, make sure you separate them every once in awhile. Otherwise they will not get properly washed, especially fiber based paper. I set up one tray as a holding tank and the second wash tray (with the siphon attached) on blocks so the water from the final rinse is dumped into the first holding tray which does overflow into the sink/drain. Seems to work fine.
