here is a question for all you rabbit people out there.for the last week or so some of my rabbits have the sneezes. they seem to be healthy other than the fact that they sneeze alot. my question is. is there something i can give them to correct this? we will be butchering some of thee rabbits later this summer and i sure don't want to feed my family sick rabbits.so we have to get rid of this problem before butcher time.thanks in advance for your replies. cindy

Response to rabbit ?

Cindy- Are the rabbits in a clean, dry , spacious and well ventilated area? Had alot of wet weather recently? Sounds like possibly an upper respiratory problem.

Response to rabbit ?

Cindy,

Is there any mold growing under your hutches, or near areas where water is a lot? I live in a very humid area in KS, and sometimes mold will start on the edges of my worm beds under the rabbits, and I find my rabbits will appear to suffer from "allergies" for a few days, until I gently wipe off the mold with bleach water, to kill it. Check throughly, this could easily lead to lung infection if left unchecked.

Rabbits are very prone to upper respiratory infections, especially in cold, drafty areas, and areas in which they can become "wet". They are also affected by dust mites and allergies. Rabbitries need to be kept very clean.
