protest for the wrong reasons

greenspun.com : LUSENET : New England Motocross Racing : One Thread

let me first start off by saying i agree with the protest partaily. what i mean is it was a normal run of the mill middleboro race with the exception of the first expert practice which was totally horrible and there was no reason for it at all. however that practice seemed to be the only real complaint being "track conditions". i feel there were other issues that should have been brought up in the meating ie.the track layout no place to pass, fast straight aways to 180 degree corners, the big boulders in the track, the length of time it takes them to post results ect.. i could keep going.now as far as shunning people who did ride is totally wrong with the exception of the riders who would not have rode the expert class till everyone left. i was talking to some of the top experts who will remain nameless who wanted to ride but didnt want to be on the hit list so they didnt but then again some eperts didnt run the expert class but ran the open expert. what does that prove? so i guess what i am saying is i see why people were mad but they will not do anything but maybe water better before practice but then they will still have all the other problems and we will still have rider reps agreeing with the tracks more than with the riders. i wish i was going to maine just for that meating to put in my 2 cents but i am not give yvon my hard earned money! ps. i normaly ride jolly rogers instead of middleboro but dint know they were running sunday i am an amature and not in any points race so i race where and when i want to and for sure dont mind missing middleboro or maine but when i drove all that way and paid my gate fee i am going to ride.now if you post on this that we all are going to protest and not go to middlebor on july 16th and go to jolly rogers (which is where i am going)that would prove more and you would have more people more apt to not race.so i am sorry if poeple hate me for my decision i am not trying to piss anyone off because i like going to the races on sunday and saying hi and talking to everyone. so i will see you people at the races (that i go to)

great letter! you had more points then half of the big time experts!!! but hey jack great point about the rider rep that was best point of the hole day !!!!!!!! the real reason randy you not going is that you are afraid of me with my corner speed and my YAMAHA

I know watering is only a fraction of the problems there, the only way to try to get a refund is to deem the track unsafe before practice starts.Calling the track a sh**hole will not refund your money. So next middleboro we will all have a choice to make before practice. In maine myself and scotter will have a letter stating what we are planning on doing(for thoes brave soles who go there).HOPEFULLY WE CAN FINALLY ALL UNITE!!

We have not raced N.E.S.C since the 1st Bull Run race this year. Yes many changes need to be made as I mentioned here on this site a few months ago. I agree we all need to "Unite" after all we are what makes this organization up. The question is HOW ? I don't think not racing is the solution as this is a sport in which we are "choosing" to do. Why are we taking away what we love to do ? Why are we sacrificing ! I think a petition needs to be made as to why " We the Riders are Neglected" I don't know how many N.E.S.C riders there are, (besides alot)but with enough signatures they have to take notice. We must set a deadline for action to begin on. A letter to the board members, requesting a meeting. We (being the conserned riders) should elect a few riders/reps. to represent us as a "UNION". All concernes should be outlined at that time. Allow the board to respond. If they can't compromise on the issues at hand, then we have to stop racing in the organization. This would be sad to see happen. It would also affect alot of the choices riders make as the Fall series is just around the corner.(anyone running for points that is)I don't have all the answers...and maybe this is a dumb idea...I don't know but, I know riding and racing is what I love to do as well as my son. When u think about it there are many things in life we hate or don't like to do or want changed , but I CAN'T change the world, I can only work within my self to make the best of it while I am here. I am all for changes and many issues are safety issues ! As a parent trying to explain to your child why were are not racing after driving a long way with a plan to race would be difficult.I really think you are all on the right path with the idea of change for the riders ! * I know many of your guys could care less about the Female class, but for safety. We shouldn't be out there with you experts in that class. I am a less than Novice rider if thats possible, and when I don't jump the jump... I put all of us at risk. I appreciate all of you who realize I am there. So lets be sure to Add that to the list of safety issues. Run us seperate... How much time is 5 laps really. Well to all who read my 2 cents...Thanks and I hope we can all make a diffrence. P.s nice to see better trophies at Bull Run !( It is about time) Female rider # 398
