Santa Theresa Goats???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I am very curious to know more about Santa Theresa goats. Are they a dairy animal? a meat animal? Where did they originate (from what breeds)? Any information on this breed (which is very new to me) would be appreciated. I just have a strong interest about these goats. I've only seen one--and I was curious as to what it really is! I raise purebred LaManchas, and love them. Just wanted to know more about Santa Theresas. Thanks!

I personally do not know a lot about this type of goat, however, on the homedairygoats talk list at E-groups there are several folks with this breed on the list. Hope this helps. Bernice

Hey, Goat Lover. I seem to have read in a past issue of The Goat Farmer magazine out of New Zealand that Santa Theresa goats are meat goats, not beefy like Boers, but about the size of Spanish goats. Look up the magazine on the web & maybe you can find that article. debra in nm.
