Hey, here's a challenge for ceeper': Count the f-words: How many did you get?

Who was the mystery poster at the end of the thread?

The article said, Activate was set up to promote anarchism. ... and everyone doing an equal amount of work and getting an equal reward, This is a laugh-riot. An anarchist saying that everyone should do an equal amount of work? Who the H@ll is he to tell you how much work to do? BTW, how do you compare an equal amount of work from say a brain surgeon and an elevator operator? Does ten hours of labor from either mean the same thing in terms of effort? How do you get the people who don't want to work at all TO work without some central authority to FORCE them to? Sorry, this is all crappola made to appeal to angry, purposefully misdirected, youths. Z,

Actually, after reading some of the posts there, I could't resist popping off a bit. It'll be fun to check back and see if there are any responses other than "F@ck you!". You never know...

The difference is, I won't hang around there for the next three years to tell them how wrong they are.

Frank:

I would recommend a vacation in Eugene, OR. Was there not long ago. You can meet these folks face to face.

Best wishes,,,,

Z,

I don't get it. Eugene, OR (though I've never been there) doesn't *sound* like a pressure cooker, why is there more anti-society sentiment there than anywhere else? Any thoughts from your experience?

I grew up in western Oregon and got my undergrad degree at the University of Oregon, in Eugene. Eugene's a small college town (around 150,000) in a liberal state. The 60's just never really died there. There were lots of protests when I was in school (I graduated in '94). The Grateful Dead used to play there nearly every summer. We used to joke, "Welcome to Eugene, please set your clock back twenty-five years".

Oregon,

Interesting, and brings up an interesting possibility. Would you say that the reason they are protesting for "Anarchy" is that the .gov (and society) are so good right now that there's nothing *specifically* they want to protest against?
