MANGALORE - Oil Spill at NMPT

Oil spill at NMPT MANGALORE, Jun 23: The crude oil tank in the MRPL jetty at NMPT burst open while refilling the tanker. The incident occurred at 3.30pm, which resulted in oil spill into the sea.

LPG Ammonia tanker 'Nang Parbath' was being refilled from IOCL through a pipe which was near the ship. The pipe burst open and the oil spilled into the sea.

The oil spill may result in causing harm to sea life. Measures are being taken under the supervision of NMPT Deputy Conservator Capt Subash Kumar to prevent further spread of oil
