Great Egret & Chicks

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Nature Photography Image Critique : One Thread

I hope that I've uploaded this picture correctly. Hello, this is my first image for critique at this forum and I am interested in a critique of this. It was taken at the Alligator Farm in Florida.

Obviously I didn't do something right. Here's the URL if anyone cares to look at the picture.

Take care, Gloria

Hi Gloria,

I suspect the problem is Photopoint itself, not your posting. From looking at the HTML, it appears that you submitted the URL properly...

The problem is the script on Photopoint's site doesn't appear to like that URL being called as an image. If I cut and paste the image URL from the source and paste it into a new browser window, the Photopoint script goes nuts.

Is your own website still up? Can you post the image there and resubmit?

Cheers, Keith

This is an interesting picture and worth following the URL to view. Nice chain interaction from mom to chicks.

OK, I finally saw it too. Very nice. I love that shot!

By the way, your first URL cut off some text. Let's see if this one works :

Love it. The dark background makes the subject stand out so well.

Exposure is on, nice use of rule of thirds, good timing.... It's a great shot.

Wow. Beautiful. Gives me some hope for my 400/5.6...

When looking a photos, I don't just look at the technique but I'm interested in the dynamics of the subject as well. I teach ecological science and I would love to make a copy of that photo for my class...it show an incredible dymanic between mother and chicks. Your photo, technically and compositionally is awsome as well.
