Misery Line Hit by Heat Chaos

A #200 million fleet of new trains for the infamous Essex to London 'misery line' has been hit by technical problems brought on by the hot weather, it is claimed today.

Rail industry sources say this week's heatwave has contributed to computer failures that have forced LTS Rail to withdraw four Electrostar Class 357 trains.

LTS said the impact of the heat was "pure speculation", but confirmed that computer problems were involved.
